Join Thunder Country Diving for a weekend exploring two of Nipigon’s most popular dive sites.

Dive Dates: August 8th & 9th
Cost: $200 per diver

Dive Schedule:

  • Saturday, August 8th – Nipigon Train Cars
  • Sunday, August 9th – Mary E. McLachlan Shipwreck

Boat Registration Deadline: August 1st. If you are not registered by this date, you will not have a spot on the boat.

A non-refundable $50 deposit is required to reserve your spot. No deposit = no reservation.

Accommodations: Divers are responsible for arranging their own accommodations.

Join Thunder Country Diving for an exciting day of underwater adventure at our Treasure Hunt Dive Day on August 29, 2026, at Silver Harbour.

Participants will search beneath the surface for hidden treasures while enjoying a fun and safe diving experience with fellow divers and snorkelers. Whether you are a certified diver or a snorkeler looking for a new adventure, this event is a great opportunity to get outdoors, explore, and enjoy a day on the water.

Registration Fee: $35 per participant (includes dinner)

Event Schedule

11:00 AM – Participants arrive at Silver Harbour
11:30 AM – Mandatory pre-dive briefing
12:00 PM – Treasure Hunt begins for divers and snorkelers
1:00 PM – Treasure Hunt ends
1:30 PM – 3:00 PM – BBQ with hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, and pop

Participant Information

All certified divers must provide proof of certification upon registration.

All divers and snorkelers must have a buddy to participate. If you do not have a buddy, Thunder Country Diving will help pair you with one.

Participants must enter and exit the water with their buddy. Solo diving or snorkeling is not permitted.

Divers participating in the treasure hunt are limited to one tank. Participants are responsible for monitoring their air supply, managing their energy levels, and ensuring they have enough air and energy for the return swim.

Equipment Rentals

Tank rentals are included with the registration fee for participants who require one. All other equipment rentals are available separately.

If you require rental equipment, please visit Thunder Country Diving at least one day before the event to arrange your gear.

Food and BBQ

A BBQ will be available from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM for participants and guests.

Participants will receive food tickets when they arrive at Silver Harbour. Additional food tickets for non-participants can be purchased in advance, with limited availability on the day of the event.

Sunny Sundays!

Meet at the shop at 10:00 AM on any sunny Sunday.
If a dive site has been pre-selected, it will be listed in the Events section above. Otherwise, everyone who attends will vote on a local dive site.
We leave promptly at 10:30 AM. If you arrive after 10:30, we will have already left.
No registration is required just show up!
Need rental gear? We recommend picking it up on Saturday before the dive.
Sunny Sunday Dives are free to attend. The only cost is rental equipment if needed. Come dive, meet other divers, and have some fun!
